Sedans and SUVs both have their advantages and disadvantages. Choosing between them, in turn, is mostly a matter of deciding which perks mean most to you and which issues you'd rather not deal with.
While sedans can be certainly comfortable, for instance, you might find a new sedan like the Volvo S60 to be less spacious than a larger SUV. This isn't to say that SUVs aren't worthwhile in the performance department. On top of their spacious interiors and higher passenger capacities, SUVs like the Volvo XC40, XC60, and XC90 can also offer rugged manners you won't get from a smaller sedan. Rough roads, weekend camping trips, off-roading; most SUVs are better-suited to those sorts of activities than your typical sedan.
